Summary

Don’t let the fact that Predator: Killer of Killers is animated put you off as this surprised me by being one of the best Predator movies yet with some massive amounts of bloodshed and a finale that will have lore fans going crazy.

Plot: The anthology story follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. But while all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent – the ultimate killer of killers.

Review: I wasn’t all that excited for Predator: Killer of Killers purely for the fact I would have preferred this done in live-action, however after watching the anthology movie the other day I can say this is one of the best Predator movies yet. Without going into spoilers, there are 3 stories featuring a Viking, a Samurai and a World War 2 pilot who all face off against the most fearsome alien hunter in the galaxy.

Despite this being animated it certainly doesn’t skimp on the gore with fountains of blood and limbs being hacked off all while still feeling very much like a Predator movie.

It’s near-constant action with plenty of fights and explosions and we get to see various kinds of Yautja too. At a glorious 85 minutes this flies through and the finale is epic stuff delivering everything you could want from a Predator movie.

It’s great to hear the classic theme tune too which is used sparingly throughout, but works perfectly.

Overall, I don’t want to say anything else, but even if you’re not a fan of animation Predator: Killer of Killers is fantastic stuff, really expanding on the lore and I think diehard Predator fans are going to love this. It’s got some Easter eggs,  plenty of graphic violence and a rapid pace making this one of the best Predator movies to date.
