TAE Meets Stan Bush

Today we were at the TFCON in Mississauga, Ontario which is a convention for fans of all things Transformers related. You can buy figures, art prints and even meet artists and creators at this event. This was an especially interesting one for us as the great Stan Bush was there signing autographs and taking photos with fans.

Now, if like most of us at TAE you were lucky enough to grow up in the 80’s you’ll know exactly who Stan Bush is; he was essentially the voice of my childhood having sung The Touch and Dare from The Transformers: The Movie from 1986, On My Own – Alone, Fight to Survive from Bloodsport, Never Surrender, Streets of Siam, Fight for Love from Kickboxer, Hearts vs. Heads from the 1986 film The Wraith and recently he provided the song No Surrender for the martial arts flick The Last Kumite.

This is to name just a few of the great tunes he’s provided over the years, and I actually can’t believe I got to meet the man behind some of my favourite childhood songs. He basically made the soundtrack to my young life and to this day any time I’m at the gym (which admittedly hasn’t been for some time) there will be several Stan Bush songs to get me pumped up.

I told him briefly how he was the voice of my childhood and how The Touch can cure even my darkest of moods with its feelgood lyrics and inspiring chorus. I bought his most recent CD which Stan kindly autographed (pictured below) which really just completed a perfect morning.

J-Man also spoke with him and said “your music has meant so much to me. It inspired me and I once listened to The Touch 25 times in a row” and Stan was clearly impressed. J then mentioned “I love all your songs and the Turbo Kid song Thunder in Your Heart was fantastic”.
