I’ve always had a soft spot for the Deathstalker films, but I have no problem with the concept of a reboot especially now that it’s been announced that Daniel Barnhardt (Bloodsport sequels, John Wick, Atomic Blonde) is set to star in it.
According to Screen Daily “Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman) wrote and directed the story of the titular barbarian who becomes cursed by a magical talisman that draws him into conflict with a malevolent wizard and a clan of monstrous assassins. Kostanski’s new vision promises a greater emphasis on exploring the fantasy setting and filling it with monsters that will be largely rendered through creature suits, prosthetic make-up, and stop-motion animation.”
This sounds awesome and the addition of Bernhardt has me looking forward to it immensely.
