Those are words I never thought I’d get to write but today we got to meet the man behind Martin Riggs, Mad Max, William Wallace and many, many more classic characters – Mel Gibson.
I got him to sign my Laserdisc of Braveheart (obviously as I’m Scottish) and we got a photo too.
I’ve heard mixed things (haven’t we all?) but he was actually friendly enough. I said I was from Scotland and he said “oh wow, that’s a long way”. I then said “you must be exhausted doing this all day” and he looked up in a very Martin Riggs way and said “are you?” and I said “oh absolutely; I’m getting too old for this shit” and left. Pretty perfect mic drop if you ask me.
