Disney have done some juggling with their release dates today with several movies on their upcoming slate getting moved around. First up is the Fede Alvarez directed Alien movie which is now set for release on August 16, 2024.
It tells the story of “a group of young people on a distant world, who find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.” I’d heard a while back that it was going to be called Alien: Romulus but I guess that’s no longer the case.
Deadline have also mentioned several other movies getting new dates including the multiple “Avatar sequels; apparently Avatar 3 is now delayed a year from December 20, 2024, to December 19, 2025. Which then pushes other sequels from James Cameron as Avatar 4 shifts from December 18, 2026, to December 21, 2029, and Avatar 5 goes from December 22, 2028, to December 19, 2031″.
Several MCU films have also been moved around due to the ongoing Writer’s strike so interesting times ahead…
