Explosive
Summary
Fuze is more about the tension than all-out action, but it still has a few shoot-outs and explosions; it’s a well told tale with solid performances from the cast and has plenty of twists and turns to be worth checking out on the big screen.
Plot: London undergoes a citywide evacuation when an unexploded World War II bomb is unearthed at a busy construction site. Amid the escalating tension and chaos, a daring criminal operation is set in motion — one that uses the evacuation as a cover for a meticulously planned bank heist. As authorities race against time to contain the crisis, alliances blur and moral boundaries are crossed.
Review: I’ve been looking forward to Fuze as it has an impressive cast including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sam Worthington and Theo James (who is my personal choice as the next 007).
I knew going in that this was more of a thriller than an all-out action movie however, there are still several shoot-outs and explosions with some nail biting tension throughout. Fuze has all kinds of twists and turns so you are never quite sure what will happen next.
After watching this I also wouldn’t complain if Aaron Taylor-Johnson is indeed the new 007 as he is a great actor too; you weren’t sure what was going on in his head in this, so we are wondering if he is a hero or not…
At just over 90 minutes Fuze is well paced and filled with tension; action junkies may wish there were more set-pieces, but I found the story and characters compelling enough that I was happy with what we got.
The film looks great and the action is well shot with some impressive explosions.
What was also cool about tonight is that Theo James was actually at the theatre where he did a Q and A before the movie. I videoed it all just for you so check it out below.
Overall, Fuze is edge of your seat stuff with first rate performances and tension and enough action to keep things moving.
