My Stupid Idea for Ulysses 31: The Movie

I absolutely loved this show when I was growing up and I always thought the story was fantastic; I think it’s ripe for the big budget reboot and who else but Lord Liam of Neeson could play the title role?

He can maintain the epic beard from the series and with Jon Favreau behind the camera you could have one of the greatest space operas of all time.

The cartoon always had a kind of somber vibe to it and even as a child it would haunt me long after watching it. Sure it’s all a bit dated by today’s standards but the story remains strong and it’s an awesome concept.

Director: Jon Favreau

Star: Liam Neeson as Ulysses

Synopsis: Ulysses and his crew struggle against the divine entities that rule the universe, the ancient gods from Greek mythology. The Gods of Olympus are angered when Ulysses, commander of the giant spaceship, Odyssey, kills the giant Cyclops to save a group of enslaved children, including his son. Zeus sentences Ulysses to travel the universe with his crew frozen until he finds the Kingdom of Hades, at which point his crew will be revived and he will be able to return to Earth. Along the way they encounter numerous other famous figures from Greek mythology given a futuristic twist.
