According to The Japan Times (and other sources) action movie legend Sonny Chiba has passed away due to complications from COVID. They state “The actor had reportedly contracted COVID-19 at the end of last month and was treated without being hospitalized, according to Japanese media reports. His pneumonia worsened, however, and he was hospitalized on Aug. 8.”
This is frankly awful news as I was a huge fan of his Street Fighter movies, Kill Bill, Shogun’s Ninja, The Ninja Wars and many more.
R.I.P. Sir you will be missed.
