Well, is is truly sad news as R. Lee Ermey is a legend in every sense; according to his Twitter account the acting giant has passed away at age 74.
His long time manager, Bill Rogin stated “It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey (“The Gunny”) passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Semper Fi, Gunny. Godspeed.”

Ermey was the star of Full Metal Jacket and arguably the best thing in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. He also had roles in Mississippi Burning, Prefontaine, Fletch Lives, Se7en and many more.
