THR is reporting that the Sylvester Stallone superhero actioner Samaritan is set to get the sequel treatment with Sly also returning. Amazon MGM Studios have hired Bragi F. Schut to pen the script as he also wrote the first movie.
Samaritan told the story of of a young boy who is saved from a beating by a sanitation worker. The boy comes to believe that the older man is a superhero who disappeared 20 years earlier, after an epic battle with his archenemies.
To be honest, I’d completely forgotten this film existed until seeing the post on THR. I remember it being entertaining enough but it was very predictable and obviously didn’t make a huge impression on me. I’ll still watch a sequel though as anything with Sly is worth a watch.
