The Meg is One of Statham’s Biggest Hits

I’m man enough to admit when I am completely full of shit and it would appear my opinion of this movie and it’s success was 100% incorrect. I stand by my review however, The Meg is well on its way to making over $100 million domestically at the box office with over $368,870,646 internationally on a budget of approximately $130 million so it’s likely going to hit near $400 million by the end of its run.

This is Jason Statham’s biggest box office hit outside of The Fast & Furious/Expendables series so on the one hand I’m pleased to see him have a big hit but on the other hand I wish it was a movie I enjoyed more.

A lot of people disagreed with my review and to be honest I don’t even remember anything about the movie so I will likely pick it up when it’s on Blu-ray so I can reevaluate it in the comfort (and privacy) of my own home where it won’t be ruined by the general public.

SYNOPSIS: A massive creature attacks a deep-sea submersible, leaving it disabled and trapping the crew at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. With time running out, rescue diver Jonas Taylor must save the crew and the ocean itself from an unimaginable threat — a 75-foot-long prehistoric shark known as the Megalodon.
