The Punisher: One Last Kill (2026) Review

Summary

The Punisher: One Last Kill could have easily been feature length as it’s far too short, but what we get is brutally entertaining with plenty of graphic violence and a huge bodycount. Jon Bernthal is fantastic as the tortured Frank Castle but it’s when he unleashes the beast is when this is at its best.

Plot: As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.

Review: Frank Castle finally returns in the too short, but still awesome The Punisher: One Last Kill starring Jon Bernthal. I love his portrayal of the character as he is practically a feral animal whose personal tragedy has broken him up mentally.

Haunted by visions of his past life and personal demons, Frank is ready to end it all and join his family in the afterlife, but something stops him from giving in and taking the easy way out.

After a 15–20-minute buildup Frank is attacked by a legion of thugs who are unleashed upon the city, so he is forced to release his primal rage.

Jon Bernthal is as ever a force of nature here giving the right amount of personal torment and channeling it into rage against the villains flooding the streets. It’s worth the build-up as Frank punches, shoots and stabs his way through innumerable goons with satisfying ferocity. He is indeed punishment in human form, and he delivers everything we’re here to see.

I do wish it was a little longer as I could watch Castle decimating his enemies for hours and it just left me hankering for more.

Overall, The Punisher: One Last Kill delivers the violence and bodycount we want from it with Bernthal at his ferocious best making Frank a tragic character who gives the bad guys what they truly deserve. I wish it was longer as I can never get enough of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, but this is still savagely entertaining.
