Timecop Deserves a 4K Release

Timecop is one of my favourite Jean-Claude Van Damme movies and yet I feel like it’s been forgotten; it doesn’t get talked about so much these days but some of JCVD’s movies like Universal Soldier, Hard Target and Bloodsport (in the UK at least) have all received a 4K release.

This also reminds me that Kino Lorber announced early last year that Sudden Death was coming to 4K, but there hasn’t been a release date given for it.

I’m not sure if there are rights issues which could the cause of the delay for Sudden Death, but does anyone know why we haven’t had a 4K release or even a proper Blu-ray release of Timecop? I have it on Blu-ray from the UK and there are no special features whatsoever; surely there are lots of behind the scenes clips or deleted footage sitting in a vault somewhere…

I feel like if Kino aren’t going to do Timecop then maybe 88 Films could as they have done some fantastic work in the past with JCVD’s films and Timecop deserves a proper release for us physical media lovers.
