THR is reporting that Well Go USA has picked up North American rights to Buybust, the new action thriller from Filipino filmmaker Erik Matti.
“The indie action and genre distributor will do a platform theatrical release for the film later this year, followed by a digital and home video rollout.
Australian actress Anne Curtis stars in the pic as a rookie cop who joins an elite anti-narcotics squad. Rushed into a poorly planned buy-bust mission, her squad finds themselves trapped in the most dangerous slum in Manila and have to fight their way out. MMA star Brandon Vera co-stars. The project is billed as one of the most ambitious Philippine productions to date.”
